Tamarind chutney


  Ingredients:

1  cup  Tamarind
1/2  cup  Jaggery
1  tsp  dry roasted cumin powder
1/2  tsp  Red chilly powder
1/4  Black pepper powder
1/4  tsp cloves
4  tsp  sugar
Salt to taste
Oil

Method:

Soak the Tamarind in hot water for 15-20 minutes and remove the seeds and make an extract.
Now heat oil in a kadai and fry the cloves for a minute.Once done add the tamarind extract and the rest of the ingredients and cook it in medium heat for 3-5 minutes.
Cool the mixture and run in a blender, strain the mixture and cook on the heat again so that a thick mixture is formed. 
This tamarind chutney would remain unspoiled in the fridge for several days.
