Date chutney
Ingredients:
1/2 kilo Dates after removing the seeds
2 tsp Grated ginger
1/4 cup Raisins
1/4 cup powdered almond
1/4 tsp powdered cinnamon
1/4 tsp chillie powder
4 cloves
4 Cardamoms
2 Cups vinegar
Salt
Sugar
Method:
1/2 kilo Dates after removing the seeds

2 Cups vinegar

Method:
- Puree the dates in a food processor. Now put dates paste, ginger, ground spices, salt, chilli powder and vinegar in a pan and cook till dates are tender.
- Now add sugar to the mixture and cook till the mixture is thickened and water absorbed. Once done remove the mixture from flame and add the blanched almonds and raisins and mix well.
- Pour the chutney into a clean air-tight glass jar. Store the date chutney for a week refrigerated and undisturbed and serve after that with roti or snacks like somasa.
- This date chutney would stay unspoiled for more than a month.
