Onion chutney


Onion chutney

 Ingredients:

Onion  -1
Tomato  -1
Mustard seed  -1 tsp
Split black gram  -1 tsp 
Shredded coconut  -1 tbsp
Hot chilli powder -1 tsp
Asafoetida powder a pinch
Curry leaves  -10
Oil  - 2 tsp
Salt to taste

Method:

  • Cut onion,tomato into fine pieces.
  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, add 1/2 tbsp mustard seed, split black gram and cook until the mustard seed splatter.
  • Now add the cut onion, tomato, coconut. Stir and cook until the tomatoes and onions are cooked.
  • Now add hot chillie powder, asafoetida. Stir and cook for 2-3 min remove from heat.
  • Grind this mixture into a fine paste. Heat rest of the oil in the pan, add the rest of the mustard seed, curry leaves and cook until the mustard seed splatter.
  • Now pour this over the fine paste or chutney and serve.
